About Ellen McLaughlin

Ellen McLaughlin is the Team Marketing Coordinator for The Karen Strid Team, having originally joined forces with Karen in 2019 at BHHS Fox & Roach before transitioning with her to Compass. Her connection to the Main Line community—and to Karen herself—began years ago when they were both active parents at Holy Child School at Rosemont. Combined with a decade in Global Wealth Management at JP Morgan and ten years in a fundraising role within Holy Child’s Office of Institutional Advancement, Ellen brings a unique blend of financial background, local insight, and high-level professionalism to the team.

Because of these deep local roots and extensive professional chapters, Ellen possesses an intimate knowledge of the Main Line market and a natural familiarity with the community. This shared history allows her to seamlessly support Karen in her role as the leader of the #1 Team in Pennsylvania, providing the essential operational and marketing foundation Karen needs to deliver a concierge-level experience for her luxury market clientele and high-end properties.

Since the move to Compass, Ellen’s role has strategically evolved to work closely with Compass's marketing team, website designers, advertising partners, and the advanced platforms the company is known for to help grow and support Karen’s business. She works to get listing details organized and accurate for Karen's final review—from drafting compelling MLS remarks and selecting optimal photography to documenting home improvements. She is also responsible for preparing professional property brochures and creating the team's weekly newsletter, which delivers curated insights on Main Line real estate, The Karen Strid Team’s featured listings, recent transactions, and local market trends to a broad network of clients.

Ellen lives in Media with her husband, Joe, the CEO of The Haverford Trust Company. Now empty nesters after years of active involvement in the Holy Child and Malvern Prep communities, they enjoy spending their downtime at their home in Stone Harbor, New Jersey and golfing at Union League National.
